Why your car's alloy wheels are particularly at risk in Corbas
Corbas, a commune in the Rhône department located south-east of Lyon within the Greater Lyon metropolitan area, hosts a dense concentration of economic activity: logistics zones, warehouses, retail parks and heavily used transit routes. This urban and peri-industrial environment multiplies the risk situations for your alloy wheels. Angled parking along narrow roads, raised kerbs, speed bumps at warehouse exits and manoeuvring in congested car parks: every journey is an opportunity to return with a scratched or damaged rim.
Beyond the cosmetic impact, a damaged alloy wheel can lead to more serious consequences: micro-cracks that encourage slow pressure loss, premature tyre wear and a notable drop in the vehicle's resale value. Protecting the value of your alloy wheels means protecting the overall value of your vehicle.
How to protect your alloy wheels: the principle of the protective band
Compared with conventional solutions — polishing, painting or wheel wrapping — which address damage after the fact and represent a recurring cost, the AlloyGator alloy wheel protector takes a preventive approach. It is a high-resistance composite ring that is inserted between the tyre and the rim during fitting. Once in place, it forms a continuous shield around the entire circumference of the wheel, absorbing impacts and scrapes against kerbs before they reach the alloy.
The product is TÜV and MIRA approved, ensuring it does not compromise handling or tyre integrity. It is compatible with alloy wheels from 12 to 24 inches, whether on a city car, an SUV or a light commercial vehicle. AlloyGator also offers a range of colours, allowing you to match the protector to the shade of your wheel or opt for a contrasting effect, depending on your preference.
What does an alloy wheel protector cost compared to the alternatives?
This is one of the most frequently asked questions: why invest in protection rather than wait and repair? Polishing a scratched rim, repainting or wheel wrapping all come at variable but often significant costs, and these interventions need to be repeated after every new incident. The AlloyGator protective band, fitted just once by a certified approved fitter, provides long-lasting protection backed by a two-year warranty. Over time, the financial case clearly favours prevention — especially for drivers who regularly navigate demanding urban environments such as those found in Corbas and the Greater Lyon area.
