One final check: the thickness
On 98% of standard alloy wheels, AlloyGator fits without issue. On a small number of models with highly protruding rim profiles (Tesla Model 3 Performance "Überturbine", BMW M Series Performance, certain after-market forged wheels), one point needs checking: the gap between the outer edge of the rim and the start of the tyre sidewall.
The test tab
Every AlloyGator kit includes a green/red test tab measuring 60 × 15 mm. Insert the green end (with the arrow) between the tyre and the rim edge:
- Green visible or up to the black line → compatible ✓
- Edge reaches the red → not compatible
Haven't received your kit yet? Print the template opposite, cut it out with a craft knife and test at home (print at 100%, do not resize).
