ALLOYGATOR WINS THE 2017 SEMA GLOBAL MEDIA AWARD
• AlloyGator wins the prestigious Global Media Award at the SEMA 2017 Show
• The alloy wheel protection system takes top honours from nearly 3,000 product entries
• The product is recognised for its mass appeal among consumers worldwide
The leading specialist in alloy wheel protection, AlloyGator has won a 2017 Global Media Award at this year's annual SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the world's premier speciality automotive products trade event.
The company was selected from nearly 3,000 product entries by a panel of 34 leading journalists from around the world, in recognition of its mass-market appeal potential for consumers outside the United States.
"The response to the AlloyGator protection system around the world has been absolutely fantastic, and the fact that it has won a SEMA Global Media Award is a true honour," said Curt Rathbone, Managing Director of AlloyGator. "Our network of dedicated and knowledgeable distributors and approved fitters across the globe has enabled us to bring this product to market on a worldwide scale, and we intend to build on this momentum going forward and continue to expand into new territories."
AlloyGator took advantage of this year's SEMA Show to unveil its new wider-profile alloy wheel protectors. Fitting alloy wheels from 12 to 24 inches in diameter, the new AlloyGators are perfectly suited to SUVs and supercars, which tend to feature larger wheels.
Furthermore, following four new colour launches this year — including gold, bronze and glow in the dark — AlloyGator now offers its ultra-tough nylon alloy wheel protectors in a choice of 15 colours, meaning drivers can personalise their car to suit their individual style.
"The idea of customisation and personalisation has grown across the globe," said Linda Spencer, SEMA's Director of International and Government Relations. "Our goal is for media experts from around the world to identify which new products are likely to succeed in their home markets. The speciality automotive aftermarket is made up of enthusiasts who are passionate about their hobby, so it is exciting to see how their love of cars, trucks and SUVs resonates with those around the world."
Although AlloyGators can be fitted by motorists themselves, they offer workshops an ideal opportunity to generate additional revenue through the extra labour sales required to fit the protectors, as well as increased parts sales and healthy margins on the product itself.
